Love, leadership, and risky business
My blog is an intimate way for me to share my unique struggles and lessons learned in my pursuit of love, leadership, and taking OWL the risks! Writing is a way for me to process OWL the information I take in each week, and an opportunity for me to share my expertise with OWL of you.
As an added bonus, it’s hoo-sterical and very pun-ey!
2024 Aspirations, Inspirations, + Limitations
If I were to sum up how my year kicked off, this Alanis Morissette song I wrote about myself feels just right…
The Root of Inner Conflict
Until we wake up, we are not happy if we don’t suffer regularly. If you are suffering, remember to enjoy your suffering, as you are the one who created it.
A Sneak Peek at my Tiny Book!
My Superpowers, according to my unique Human Design and Gene Keys, are vast and all-knowing, with the gift of disrupting things that need to shift and change for the better and liberate your inner truth along the way. Simply by being me, I empower people to love themselves and to follow their own unique path in life. I am enough–so are you.
Quantum Flirts
As described by Arnold Mindell, a quantum flirt is “a short-lived, transient, perpetual signal which can be used to provide us with insight.” A flirt from the universe can come in any form—we can see them, hear them, feel, smell or taste them. These quantum flirts with the universe happen throughout our daily lives, like a gentle nudge meant to catch our attention, so that we can actually observe and notice whatever meaning that may hold for us.
Meditation isn’t just for hippies
As a self-proclaimed hippie whoo was born a couple generations too late, OWL be honest here and admit that even this hippie had no place for meditation in her life up until now. Have you ever met a yogi? I rest my case. So many of the meditation coaches and friends I had that were “super into mindfulness,” didn’t appear to have any magic secret ingredient that I was willing to try. Meditation was for the monks, the buddhists, and many other people whoo weren’t me.
What to expect after 30 days of coaching.
The world is waiting for you to share your superpowers, and when you finally do, you can almost feel the earth move as it redirects you to where you were always destined to go. Now I’m not saying the pandemic is a direct result of me hiring a life coach in February…but I will attest this shift in the world opened up room for me to laugh with my new love, learn at ALL the coaching schools, and get empowered to provide professional coaching that evokes transformation…
Playing Big with Failure
As your coach, I come to each call ready to play BIG! As a client, you should expect nothing less. Playing big also means failure is inevitable. I promise you I will occasionally fail. Secretly I can’t wait for the moment this happens.
The ‘marshmallow test’ business leaders keep failing.
Nothing feels better to a new business leader than their first taste of success. Your body can’t help but produce and energy and excitement around you!
Procrastination is my stress reliever.
“Procrastination is a form of stress relief.” - Mel Robbins
In fact, it’s how a lot of people relieve stress when they’re feeling overwhelmed. Mom’s dead, dad’s gay now, I’m stilly funny, but it’s been a bit overwhelming at times.
Almost perfect
“Perfection is the enemy of action.” -Ashley Stahl
I was raised to be a good girl. Perfectionism was desired. Mistakes were often met with parental disappointment and internal feelings of shame and guilt.
These are my confessions…part II
So confession, today’s devotional and gratitude journal was based on my reading from individualogist.com (see below, FYI I’m an Aries).
Be willing to assess or reassess your determination levels where a goal close to your heart is concerned. You've invested time, energy, and faith in a cause or pursuit of some kind. You might also wonder what your investment of each has brought you…
It’s a lot when you think about it. But not really.
A year can feel like a long time, but in the context of a lifetime already lived, it’s really not that long. A decade is a long time when you step back and think about it. But not really. Just ask anyone who’s lived several decades. Year 0-10, total blur.
Where are you?
It’s 2023, where are you? What time do you wake up? What is the first thing you do? When you look at your calendar, what’s on your schedule? Who is around you? It’s Monday, where do you go? What do you see when you step outside and look around?
I have questions…
Who are you? Like really, deep down inside, whoo are you? What do you value in your life? What values in your relationships, in your physical environment, in your work?
The best version of you.
What if I told you that you are already the best version of you? Yes, you, the human sitting on the couch eating potato chips, watching Netflix and scrolling on Facebook. Naturally resourceful, creative, and whole, you are equipped with all you need.
What’s fear got to do, got to do with it?
My girl Tina was right. Second-hand emotions have nothing to do with it. But sometimes everything to do with what’s standing in your way. Fear is a second-hand emotion. Fear stops you dead in tracks, it’s what it was programmed to do.
Free to fail
Imagine waking up every day excited to fail. Do you feel excited? Anxious? Close to having a panic attack? Deep breaths. This is only a simulation. And it's about to get better.
