The OWL Sanctuary and Retreat Center…
The OWL Sanctuary, The OWL Lodge, The OWL Villa…out of owl the iterations of ideas I’ve had to bring leaders from around the world together for personal and professional development that includes a yearly solo retreat, and monthly community and conversations led by Chief OWL, Katie L. Eades (that’s me!), the idea of a Sanctuary seems to resonating the most with me at the moment. Although the OWL Lodge does fulfill pre-teen Katie’s dream of being President of her own Club, including an initial membership fee and monthly dues…ugh, you can see where I keep ping ponging back on forth on these ideas, ever since the day the OWL Villa iteration died…
Quite literally, there was a death in the family, may Dan’s mom rest in peace, and after 11.5 months of no one expressing interest in the said Villa, while we processed the news of Terry Sullivan’s unexpected transition, another owl (perhaps a vulture for this imagery) swooped in and scooped it up! Talk about a sign from the universe that something is not meant for you…ever the optimist (after a few tears), I found the perfect replacement property! …that included a very strict HOA about conducting business on the property, leaving me to have my own Carrie Bradshaw moment of pausing to wonder,
What exactly is the universe trying to tell me? Perhaps I’m just meant to buy a regular home and move on from this seemingly spontaneously overnight dream of an idea…
Every ending creates room for a new beginning, so perhaps this is what has led me to go back to the drawing board to consider whether or not now is the right timing for OWL to have a Retreat Center… It is definitely the right time to host retreats, highly recommend you check out my Nashville offering in October, but I don’t know if running a full-time retreat center, even if I do live on site, is the direction I’m meant to go right now while also working on increasing our family by one teeny human (fingers crossed, hasn’t happened yet!)…rumor has it babies change your life. Perhaps hosting retreats around the world in a city near you would be more advantageous for everyone! It does resurrect those plans I made in January of 2020 when I founded the company, plans that included traveling and hosting workshops and conferences…
Speaking of resurrecting plans, I’ve relaunched Katie’s Classroom this month, after suspending it after the first month last year to pursue leading the FemCity Knoxville networking group. I’ve learned a lot about leadership since embarking on that quest, and am sharing it owl with you for free the month of September, in honor of my Dad’s 70th birthday! The leadership quest to open an OWL Retreat Center is just beginning, and currently the universe is pointing me in the direction of podcasting, travel, and co-leading a fabulous retreat in Nashville! I’ll be combining my wisdom and wit with international mystic, Master Akashic Record Practitioner, Energy Healer, & Spiritual Teacher, Leilani Lucero. A certified Co-Active Coach, certified Master Akashic Records Practitioner, a graduate of the global Co-Active Leadership Program, and the Hoffman Process, she is specifically trained in Co-Active Coaching, Akashic Healing, and various Leadership modalities and frameworks. Together, we are bridging the gap between Science and Your Soul’s desires.
